Web 2.0 / Ubidesk.com

Web 2.0 websites are sites that are interactive. There are many different ways this is possible whether it is chatting, making websites, making music or editing photographs. Ubidesk is another that is great for collaborative work. It is a website that holds documents that can be accessed through any computer with an Internet. As long as the administrator gives permission any given document can have many authors and editors. the changes can be seen instantly by other users and can be tracked. This tracking feature shows who edited what and when, as well as the overall revisions over time. Although it seems as if everyone involved has free "reign" over the document, the administrator can set limits to how many people can access it and who. If a user wants to edit the piece they must already have been approved by the original author. But if someone not authorized to edit has an idea, they can comment on the piece.

This website is very easy to use and is a great website for students because in school there are quite a few collaborative project. But with busy schedules it is hard to get together to work. That is why this website is the best choice for students to use while cooperating on the project. No matter what time or where any of the students in the group can work on it, and work together.

Although this site ran smoothly I did experience some trouble using it. One of the problems that I encountered was with the layout. Once inside the page editor it was fine but navigating to that site was a little confusing. I had trouble figuring out the difference between what led to my site, my documents, and making a new document. In the end though I was able to find everything okay it just took a little extra time to figure out the layout.

This is a screen capture of Ubisdesk showing one of the features of showing who has edited what part of the document. The text in blue was what I originally typed. And the text in green is what a classmate of mine edited.
